Physical Therapist- Ken Caldwell, PT, DPT, CSCS
Ken Caldwell is entering his 7th season as team physical therapist. Ken grew up in Buffalo, NY and has a lifelong passion for hockey. He earned undergraduate degrees in psychology then physical therapy from SUNY Buffalo prior to his doctorate from the University of Kansas.
He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and National Strength and Conditioning Association along with being a guest speaker for the Oklahoma Physical Therapy Association, Oklahoma Athletic Trainers Association and UCO. He works at OU Edmond Physical Therapy and has worked extensively in orthopedics including assisting amateur, collegiate and professional athletes over the previous 25 years.
Performance Dietitian- Kalyn Khalaf
Kalyn Khalaf is entering her 3rd season as the UCO Hockey Performance Dietitian. A native of Newcastle, Oklahoma, Kalyn is a Registered/Licensed Dietitian (RD/LD) and an alumnus of Oklahoma State University where she earned her Bachelor’s in Nutrition and Dietetics as well as a Masters in Nutritional Sciences. After her research and thesis over “Disordered Eating in Non-Elite Marathon Runners,” Kalyn spent time on staff with the Washington State University Football program under head coach Mike Leech.
Kalyn is excited for her return to the team and is looking forward to helping the players achieve optimal performance through nutrition education and customized nutrition counseling.
