UCO Continues Winning Streak

The University of Central Oklahoma was back on the road this past weekend to take on WCHL opponent, The University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. The Bronchos swept the weekend against the Buffalos in dynamic fashion.

UCO walked into the Colorado Rec Center Friday night to face an undefeated Colorado team. UCO came out firing the puck at the net and took a 2-0 lead headed into the first intermission thanks to Freshman Jeff Rebmann and Sophomore Leeam Tivers marking tallies on the scoreboard. Zach Guerra, Cooper Krauss, and Ondrej Blaha extended the lead in the second, however, the Buff’s Drew McConaugh was able to slip a goal past Kelsch to get the only score for Colorado in the contest. The third period was a high scoring affair for the Bronchos as Meuer scored his first in the contest, Guerra and Tivers got their second goal of the evening, and Ondrej Blaha capitalized on his opportunities to capture his first hat trick as a Broncho. Central Oklahoma finished the eveing with the win, 10-1.

Saturday, the Bronchos wanted to ride that momentum into the second matchup of the weekend in Superior, Colorado just down the way from Boulder. UCO was able to complete the sweep against CU with another win agains the Buffs, 8-1. The Bronchos are back at home this weekend for a home stay month of November to face Colorado State Friday, November 4th @ 8:45pm and Saturday, November 5th @ 7:45pm.
