Bronchos Fall Short of Third National Title

The University of Central Oklahoma and Lindenwood University are no strangers of being in the ACHA Men’s DI National Championship game. Both teams have recorded the national title in their respected program history, and both teams knew what each team was capable of bringing to the contest. Lindenwood took the early lead in the contest but UCO would keep the contest close heading into the final period, closing the gap between the two teams and scoring more goals against the Lions during the entire tournament, but that is as close as the Bronchos would get. UCO came up short in the ACHA Men’s DI Finals, allowing Lindenwood to capture the 2022 title. “I could not ask anything more of our guys during this run,” said Jeff Smith, General Manager of the Bronchos, “They played with such grit and determination and really set us up for another chance at another ACHA National Title. Although we are disappointed in the outcome, I am excited to see what is in store for next season.”

The Bronchos ended their 2022 season undefeated at home, ranked 2nd in the nation, and look forward to a bright 2022-2023 season. “We are a young team,” Head Coach Rivera said, “We only are loosing four players and you never know what the recruiting trail will turn out.”  The Bronchos look to reload and build on their success this season and make another run for their third ACHA National Title in the fall.
